The beautiful, rugged Central Coast of California is the perfect place to Sweat Like a Mother all year long! Stroller Strong Moms Monterey is one of the best ways to get a workout in with your kids on the Monterey Peninsula. Our instructors are all certified from nationally-recognized accreditations, including the American Council of Exercise Certified Group Fitness instructors, United States of America Weightlifting Sports Performance coach, and our yoga instructor holds a 200-hour Vinyasa certification from Hot Asana University.

We pride ourselves in offering challenging full-body workouts that get our athletes outside, moving, and most importantly, having fun. Our Monterey stroller fitness class is constantly varied and modifiable for every level of athlete. If you are a pregnant mom, a new mom, a seasoned mom, or a mom who has kids that have grown up and gone to school, Stroller Strong Moms Monterey has something to offer you!

Multiple Locations Across the Peninsula for You to SLAM

Stroller Strong Moms Monterey meets five days a week at various locations throughout Monterey and Salinas, which means there is always an opportunity for you to SLAM!

Our locations include:

  • Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove
    • The beautiful backdrop of the Pacific Ocean sets the tone for our SLAM class on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays! We utilize the open spaces, back volleyball courts, concrete pier, beach, Monterey Bay Recreation Trial, and various rocky inlets and outcroppings to get our sweat on. Each class ends at Caledonia Park, a block away from the beach. The fenced-in playground lets our kids play after our workouts. Class meets on the lawn at Lovers Point.
  • Lincoln Park in Marina
    • Lincoln Park is a beautiful open space that is perfect for our SLAM classes. There are ramps for stroller running, a baseball field, basketball court, paved paths, stairs, and playground that creates a unique environment to get our sweat on. Parking is right next to the park on Lee Avenue.

In addition to our regular SLAM classes, we also offer heavy weight days, track workouts, and yoga every other Friday at Lovers Point.

Our Monterey stroller fitness classes offer it all – the chance to get outside, get fit, and get together with other like-minded moms in a beautiful location on the Central Coast. Each month, Stroller Strong Moms Monterey also offers Mom’s Night Out events and regular playgroups. All you need to bring to class is a jogging stroller, yoga mat, towel, water, snacks and toys for your kids, and a desire to Sweat Like a Mother! If you do not have stroller-aged kids, that is ok! Join us anyway!

MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS & FRIDAYS | 9:30-10:30AM (every other Friday is Yoga!)

This park is located in Pacific Grove and has the most beautiful backdrop to get your SLAM on! There are plenty of great features including a large lawn, beach volleyball court, rocky outcrops, a concrete pier, and access to the beautiful coastal recreation trail. It is also a short distance to Berwick Park which offers another large lawn to SLAM! We finish class at Caledonia Park which is a block from Lovers Point and offers a fenced in playground for the SLAM kids to play! 

Parking & Start Location

There is a parking lot on Ocean View Boulevard and additional parking on the street and in a small lot towards the point. Class ends at Caledonia Park, so you can also park at the park and walk down to Lovers Point for the start of class.



Lincoln Park is a very large and beautiful park with features including a large grassy field, a baseball field, rubberized playground, stairs, ramps, basketball court, paved paths, and more!

When you drive up to the park, drive past the Lincoln Park sign on Reynolds Street and take a right onto Lee Avenue. There are several parking spots on Lee Avenue. We will meet by the playground and concession stand.

Your First Class is Complimentary

I started Stroller Strong Mom’s a couple of weeks ago and instantly loved the workouts and community, but today after class my daughter age 2 gave it the best review and I thought I would share. She said “I love Stroller class. Mommy, and baby, and Brooke (herself)” out of the mouths of babes! This group is more than a fitness class, come and see!


Monterey Instructors



Alexa has a master’s degree in Health and Physical Education and has been an ACE certified group fitness instructor since 2011. She is CPR/AED certified through AHA and holds a Sports Conditioning Specialty Certification as well as a Pre and Post-natal Fitness education. For years, Alexa used her experience as a former Division I Soccer All-American and Professional Soccer Player to coach children of all ages in soccer and strength and conditioning. With her fitness and coaching experience and an undergraduate degree in early childhood education, developing a fitness community for moms and their kiddos was the perfect fit for her as a mom. She created Stroller Strong Moms in Columbus in 2011 and it has since grown to so many new cities. She moved to Monterey in 2015 with her husband, Tony, and three children, Destry, Velzy and Zoya. Her favorite ways to SLAM are to swim, HIIT, run, surf, and sweat alongside all her fellow #SLAMsisters at class of course!



Kim is an ACE certified group fitness instructor and is CPR/ACLS/PALS certified. She also works full time as an ICU nurse. She has lived on the central coast for 7 years with her husband Chris and 2 year old son Lucas. Her favorite ways to SLAM are by exploring the trails of Monterey County, riding her Peloton bike, and of course sweating it out alongside her SLAM sisters!

Who's Coming to Class?



Bree is a certified USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach and holds a current CPR certification through AHA. Her athletic background includes competitive Olympic weightlifting, strength training, and CrossFit. She’s a freelance writer, mom to a toddler that doesn’t like to sleep, self-proclaimed foodie, Coast Guard spouse and ombudsman, and active SLAMIE. Bree joined Stroller Strong Moms in 2016 shortly after moving to Monterey and quickly found her niche of moms, athletes, and community on the Central Coast. When not SLAM’n, you can find her exploring the Monterey Peninsula for beaches (or food), lifting with her husband, or trying really hard to get her toddler to nap. She looks forward to being able to help moms reach their fitness goals and show them that being strong is beautiful.



Cassie Cercy is an ACE certified group fitness instructor and is CPR/First Aid certified. She moved to Monterey in June with her husband, Bryan and sons, Jaxon, Tyson, and Mason. She owns Stroller Strong Moms Savannah and was an instructor for Stroller Strong Moms Columbus last year. This is her third SLAM spot! Cassie’s favorite way to sweat like a mother is through sprinting, HIIT and Tabata workouts, and while chasing around all of the littles at the playground after Stroller Strong Moms.

Just did my first class and I can’t wait for the next! Power packed hour and baby was entertained the whole time. Love that there are two location options.

11 months later – SLAM has become part of our weekly routine and I could imagine it any other way. I’ve become the best version of myself with SLAM and love that my baby boy gets to watch all my progress. This group is definitely more than just a workout class and I leave each session feeling as excited as I did that first day.



Yoga Instructor

Alison has been practicing yoga for 18 years, and completed her 200 hr YogaTeacher Training in 2015 with Shelley Tomczyk and Leo Cheung in Vancouver, Canada. A former dancer, Alison walked into her first yoga class thinking it would be a way to stretch and relax, and found so much more. Over the years yoga has been a route to feeling her mental and physical best; a place to reset from working in high-pressure, high-stake PR and health care fields; and a path to becoming more compassionate towards herself and others, and more present and connected in day-to-day family life. It helped her have a fit pregnancy, and was how she found her “self” again after becoming a mother the first, second and even the third time. Alison leads all-levels classes focused on discovering optimal alignment for your body, smart sequencing, and linking breath with movement to allow students to more safely deepen their practice and personal yoga journey. Born and raised in Northern British Columbia, near Alaska, Alison and her husband met in Vancouver before moving to San Francisco. They have lived in California for 10 years and feel lucky to now call Pacific Grove home. They have three children, who keep them busy in the yoga of life. When not at SLAM or on her mat, you can find Alison Sweating Like A Mother minding kiddos at the beach, chasing her toddler at the playground, or hiking with her family. On rare occasions she gets to mountain bike with her husband, and has been excited to recently add SUP and skiing to her outdoor pursuits.


Run Coach

Shelby is a UESCA certified running coach.  She also has a master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies and is CPR/first aid/PALS certified. She recently relocated from Colorado to the Monterey peninsula with her husband and 3 kids. Shelby discovered Stroller Strong Moms in 2011 when Alexa first brought the tribe together in Columbus, GA. Until recently she has had to watch from a far with no nearby affiliates, but in the meantime grew her love of all things running. She does not discriminate distance and has run races from 5k to 100k.  She has a particular fondness for mountains and trail/ultra running. Some may call her crazy but her desire is to share her love of running with as many as she can.  Her favorites ways to sweat are hill repeats or beach runs with her SLAM sisters.
